While working on a project for a mind controlled wheelchair, I learned that two of my teammates would soon be interning with Apple’s Siri Team. Given Daniel’s visual and physical impairments, Siri is the fundamental platform that enables him to interact with others and his environments. Recognizing this as an opportunity to expand Siri’s capabilities and enhance its effectiveness for Daniel and others, I handed my brother his iPhone while the engineers observed his interactions and documented areas for improvement. As a result, Daniel was hired by Apple as a consultant to collaborate directly with Siri Founder, Tom Gruber.
